As you know BA has been around a while now, we started on 360 as a little joke and I had so many emailing me sending me PM's on 360 "add this" and "do this" so along with my own posts on there a lot of the posts on BA's 360 page were thought up by others some even written by others under the BA handle .... ha ha you thought I wrote everything on there didn't you well I didn't others had the password for the BA 360 page, it wasn't always me

But here though, it is mainly me well seems like it anyway and yes I know you can't be anonymous on here but the anonymous name of BA doesn't mean the same as "hiding" it's more like "Hello my name is ..... and I'm an addict"
We want you to stand up and tell us what you like to blog about, why you blog what puts you in the mood so to speak
Bloggers Anonymous has been around since when ..June 06 a joke a little play on the addiction that we then had for 360 that we still have for blogging where ever we are where ever we come from even those form MsN who **shock** don't blog and seeing as we are going into our 3rd year now I want more member participation Joy was always great for that, we've lost Joy into the great blog in the sky, Dana well she's somewhere on the Rez , Snow Bunny no idea don't think she knows either but Susan(Red7) myself and Mister E are still around we will be as well great bloggers never die .. or is that once 360 famous always 360 famous ?
Anyway we are are still around, thing is right so are you guys and you do know how to post on a group right ...right you do don't you haven't forgotten or anything?

Readability and size

One of the most important things for anyone reading your page is readability
If they can't read what you've written they won't read it

Now I've seen a couple pages today (yes I've been looking) that where either blue on a dark background or had a flashing gif background I opened that one and went "OH [swear removed]" and closed the page didn't even bother to really look at what was written
The blue text at least I could highlight it but the flashing background oh boy way too much sorry

Of course size (which does matter) comes into play as well, before I post I allways choose "Normal" from the font size drop down list makes the text a little bigger and easier to read

Yes I could because I use Firefox choose [View > Page style > No Style] or hold down the ctrl key and scroll my mouse wheel so text is bigger and on a plain background but hey lazy person here I like to read things straight up

So if you are a theme designer or you are just starting or maybe you don't know anything about CSS and use Custom Colors or a default background, please make sure that things are easily read
If you have to cross your eyes and squint at your page to read it then chances are others will have too as well so make it easy on everyone remember when you are posting what color your page is it's an easy mistake to make because compose is black on white to make the text colour a dark color by habit .. or even yellowish orange or brown..

You may have to highlight some parts of this so you can read it

Was watching the TV last night and one of those shows came on where they "do up" the house for a family who is deserving you've seen the kind of show I'm talking about
Anyway this particular one their son had fallen into the pool when he was two years old, he lived but was severely brain damaged this was around three years ago he's now 5 years old, can hardly move, can't talk can't do any of the things a normal 5 year old can, he couldn't even smile when they brought in the Wiggles

Now I'm just thinking here seriously I don't know what I would have done if that had happened to one of my kids it's not a life that I would like them to lead
What this family have done though is set up a foundation for families with seriously disabled children because a lot do end up in homes the family's can't cope, don't think I could have either.
A child's wheelchair and be as much if not more than $5000 for a child with that kind of disability, this foundation helps with things like that and also teaches pool safety.

Be a different story if the child was born like that but wouldn't it be in the back of your mind I wish they had died in the accident because then at least they wouldn't have to live the rest of their life like that
An adult has lived their life a child hasn't but what kind of life is it ?
Someone like Stephen Hawkins who's condition worsens over the years or Christopher Reeves who's accident caused his paralysis but who's brains still function (functioned in Christopher Reeves case) they have money, a lot more than this little boy does maybe he is a genius, maybe he is the next Hawkins

Maybe maybe not who knows but for a child from 2 years old to live their life like that unable to move hardly remembering that they could without the voice synthesisers and the electronic gadgets that a lot of money can buy, this child has to live his whole life without communication what kind of a life is that?

Now I'm not saying everyone who's so disabled should be euthanized can't say that you wouldn't get the Hawkin's of the world if you did that
What I'm saying is it is slightly cruel don't you think not to give him the best kind of gadgets that would help him actually LIVE and communicate with the rest of the world the body might not work but the brain does.

What are your thoughts on this?
Could you cope?
Would you know that your child was desperately trying to communicate with you?
Could you cope financially for the rest of your child's life?
If you have a disabled child, what are your thoughts?

I'm shocked, stunned mortified even
Just found out that the users coming over from MsN to Multiply don't have blogs, they don't even know what one is some of them .. I was like OMG you don't know what a blog is

this is terrible this is the poor, poor things don't have any idea what a blog is

We shall have to teach them what you can do, what a blog is all about and what blogging is

This by the way is a blog, for those of you from MsN .. this is a blog , on the group here we use it for updates and such and for help with blogging it has an editor as you can see I placed a smiley in and can make text bold and italics do all kinds of things in a Blog.

A long, long comment that is a full on blog in itself

On 360º of course we were restricted to the amount of characters we could put in a comment (4000)

Here we don’t seem to be restricted at all.

Of course on blog posts it doesn’t really matter how long winded the comment is.

So go ahead blomment all you want because here we aren’t restricted or don’t seem to be anyway.

Has anyone gotten an extremely long winded comment?

Do you yourself do them?

Do you find that the way Multiply works there are more blomments here or less than 360º?

Online plagiarism
Since it is very easy to steal content from the web by simply copying and pasting, the problem of online plagiarism is growing. This phenomenon, also known as content scraping, is affecting both established sites and blogs

How do you make sure that others know you have used someone else’s work?
Link back to the original work give the author some credit it won’t make your post seem less original it will highlight your work as opposed to theirs

If you borrow an idea that someone else has had say “Mary had this idea”
If you copy part of an article say “from this site”
If you re-post an older post of your own say so “re-post from Nov 2006”

It’s always best to put your own ideas, your own thoughts into a blog, poem or short story that you write but if you do have troubles with that at least say where the item is from, its nicer for your readers its nicer to the person who did it in the first place

Just because everyone else copy pastes from somewhere else doesn’t mean its right most times there is a link back or credit given anyway you just haven’t noticed it

Punishments for plagiarism vary from failing a course you are taking too jail time or loosing respect and jobs (plagiarism FAQ)

Now I’m not talking about images here even though they too fall under the same Copywrite umbrella same as music does I’m talking about the written word (images and music are a topic for another blog)

Seeing as we as bloggers aren’t writing a university paper for a final grade we don’t need to have a full page of citations (facts from here part) on the ends of our blogs but we DO need to either link back or say “written by” etc because otherwise its called plagiarizing and that is in the world of blogging not so much stealing but faking it

If you didn’t write it, you know you didn’t write it everyone else knows you didn’t write it SAY SO

A Meme goes from blog to blog most times its one of those questionnaire things , one person does it and the next does the same only they do it a little differently.
Basically its an idea started by one person that others copy and it grows from their post onto the next one and so on growing or transforming as it goes

Sometimes a meme gets another few people to do the same Meme this spreads it faster
They can be questionnaires
Lists of answers
Short stories
Photo posts
anything that you "borrow" from someone else is a Meme
If you ask others to do the same thing that's a Meme
If they do it anyway without asking that's a Meme

Memes can be fun and interesting, you can post about yourself or put up your "favourite" thing then go read everyone else's Memes about that same thing
Its like passing on a little part of yourself to the next person

Origionally set up as a Yahoo group, Bloggers Anonymous soon had its own 360 page (now defunct) and a web site (also defunct) but is still going as a Yahoo group
BA of course now blogs on Blogger and on Multiply

Some folks aren't quite sure what BA is all about (I shorten it to BA you type the words Blogggers Anonymous as much as I do you would too)
Well basically its for bloggers ...the addicted ones and for those who don't blog all that much who just want people to read what they do have to say
Or if you want a BA T-shirt we still have some of those left I think ..yeah we do look in the albums on Multiply or on the YGroup , the T-shirts are free so are the donuts and bananas

So what can you do here on BA?
You can post a link to your blog post
You can ask a question about blogging
You can post jokes
You can post funny pictures
You can jump right in and take over if you want ..well only if you are sick of me posting all the time

Remember we aren't anonymous on Multiply but on our Blogger page you can comment anonymously if you want, point is that we don't actually want you to be anonymous and lurk the whole point of BA is to get yourself out there and show the world how addicted you realy are and how well can you blog!

Now they are defining a blog as a page with dated entries "Something that helps you publish, make comments, anything that has to do with developing a weblog." which I suppose Youtube, Twitter and Flickr all have but they aren't blogging platforms

We were such dedicated citizens of Y! 360.
We stood behind them all the way. joining groups in support of them.
We made T shirts proclaiming our addiction to them. sometimes we even had to make little clinics to try and get away from 360. Like rehab...sadly it never worked.
i managed to escape 360 for some time and moved to Blogger. I lasted for a while but 360 would shine in the distance.
So I slowly would sneak back more and more just to see what people were up to.
I would comment here and there. One day I found myself doing a challenge.
Pretty soon, I was blogging full force ahead at the speed of light again.
Then I realized I loved it again.
Then...the inevitable happened.
The 360 product blog pretty much said..."Um thanks but no thanks...we don't care about you bloggers...and you're little groups too!" *evil laugh*
So I took refuge in blogger, well actually I was already here.
But now that my favorite group is also here, I would like to take the time to introduce Bloggers Anon to any new potential members from blogspot or welcome any refugees from 360.
Bloggers Anon is a place where we get together, drink coffe, eat whatever anyone made and talk about our favorite pasttime blogging. If anyone reads this just introduce yourself please?

If you blog you blog, doesn't matter if you blog on 360 or Blogger or even MySpace
A blog is a blog and if you have a blogging addiction you have a blogging addiction!

See we have a little problem here on Bloggers Anonymous our group membership is falling due to members leaving 360 and Yahoo.
The Blogger version of Bloggers Anonymous hasn't been updated for years and the other blogging addiction groups on other formats are not being updated either ours is the only blogging addiction group that has any life in it at all.

So to keep Bloggers Anonymous alive the group will now be open to all bloggers from anywhere !

Like it or not blogging is a social networking phenomenal and a powerful tool that big players such as global companies, the media and even MPs are beginning to acknowledge.

Blogging is a form of social networking where like minded people can share their lives, thoughts and ideas as well as promoting themselves online. Just as every thriving business has a website you will be hard pressed to find an artist, company or general Joes Bloggs who does not have a blog.

In a way we all have MySpace to blame for that, the Cinderella story of artists hitting the big time through blogging and social-networking are now common folklore.

Today blogging is so ingrained in society that it now has numerous awards contests. One of the largest is the Weblog Awards and there is also the Bloggers Choice Awards but the new kid on the block is Best of the Brit Blog Awards 07 (The BOBBs). This new award is organised by freebie paper, The Metro and cool lifestyle website, Askmen.com with the aim of finding Britain's Best Blog. Celebrities such as England cricketer, Alastair Cook and TV presenter, Jason Bradbury along with the public have selected from categories such as arts, entertainment, travel and fashion and the winner will be announced shortly.

Blogging is basically an online diary where people post their thoughts, rants and ideas but what is so exciting is that you can upload photos, audio (podcasting) and video (vlogs) The interactive elements allow people to leave comments on your page and create links to other sites.

It is amazing to think that the first blog was created in 1994 just after the internet was started and today a blog is created every second and there are over 60 million blogs worldwide. The launch of blog hosts such as Facebook, TypePad, LiveJournal, Yahoo 360 and the infamous MySpace make is very simple for users to create a blog.

So what is the fascination with blogging, why do people do it and where do they get their ideas from? We spoke to four prolific bloggers to find out what inspired them to blog.

Eddie, the Birdman, aged 31 is an Administrator who lives in New York City.

I started blogging in August of 2005, but I didn't start to take it seriously until December of that same year when many readers started taking notice and interest. Thereafter it snowballed into what you see today. I started because I wanted to chronicle my life in New York City. After what happened in 9/11, the city went through dramatic changes and I wanted to be so much a part of that change.

These are exciting times but by all means, I wanted to practise my writings. Blogging was also my way of letting out the creative energies I possessed. I was an art major in college and I no longer pursued that career. Blogging has allowed me to be an artist. At one point, I cranked out a blog every night or every morning. It became an obsession that needed real management. Now, I blog mostly during the weekdays. It's like a career, isn't it?

I chose Yahoo 360 because it was simply easy to compose and write unlike Live Journal which is more a publishing site. I have a LiveJournal in case 360 goes 'ka-blewey!' Nothing lasts forever, you know. I get most of my ideas from real experiences. I explore NYC as much as I can and I carry a camera phone which helps illustrate my findings.

People are naturally drawn to those blogs, but it’s my thoughts they really want to read. At least from what I see in the comments and hits I receive. I do draw much of my inspiration from other bloggers, magazines, pictures, news, and interests such as fashion, art, films, books, and music. Pop culture and celebrity writing is also a popular blog topic. I try to keep things original and funny

From late 1996 I've been online. In approximately ten years I've seen various occurrences come and go. In the beginning it was the web chat. I think we were just so happy just over the fact that we were connected so it was like growing up together.

Along came the instant messengers..first it was ICQ then Yahoo and MSN Messengers and so on. There were, still are, GROUPS...various interest groups..they are still alive, email will always be alive of course.

The first blog site I ever laid eyes on was LiveJournal and that was probably 1998. I was (am) always curious about everything new when it came to the internet -- tried to keep myself abreast of what was going on in many fields but that has become too overwhelming now. Anyways, I signed up for LiveJournal and that was my first blog.

I wrote for a while...like a personal diary and nothing much came out of that. At this stage of my internet experience I had not yet gotten the sense of social networking or what it was all about, really.

Next thing I came across was Blogger.com. I did the same thing there and then I paid a little more attention to it when Google bought Blogger. It was actually thanks to Blogger I came got my first Gmail account.

Still I had not gotten the hang of it. I wrote and I wrote without anybody noticing that.

I'd been signed up for, first Geocities, later Yahoo...kept my email accounts in Yahoo, kept track of what new stuff they were bringing out all the time so when I read about Y360°, of course I was curious.

I registered for a Y360 page, looked around a little...saw that I could make my own HTML-coding etc... nothing much different from the other blog sites I'd been using. For some reason (that I cannot really remember), I joined a Yahoo group called Y-360 help group, got three friends on my Y360 list and I still remember when I got the first comment!

That had never happened with any of the other blog sites I mentioned and it made all the difference. Someone was actually reading my little posts. My friends list grew immensely for a while there, even though I tried to be careful about who to add and who not.

My blog never had a theme...I never had to limit myself to any certain subject...I just kept journaling about my new life in Canada, my old life back home in Sweden, our cat, ducks, raccoons or just whatever that happened to be on my mind.

One of my newly won friends in Y360 introduced me to a graphics editor named Paint Shop Pro...a programme that had been sitting on my computer for ages but I never understood how to use. Suddenly I got the hang of that and a new world opened! I learned new things about myself, that I have a love for shapes and colours that I had no idea of before.

During these two years I've been blogging on Y360° I've sometimes wondered if this was just another thing that would fade away just like for example the early web chat. I don't know, but I don't think so.

When you consider the amount of users in all the various blog sites..MySpace, Blogger, TypePad, WordPress...you name it... I just don't think it will go away. Social networking has become too big...much bigger than I honestly think Yahoo was aware of when they started Y360°. They had a really good thing going...a place where you actually got a sense of community, but I think it needs a lot of work to live up to the others.

I sometimes have this feeling that they don't really know where they're heading...in which direction, so to speak, and I sometimes wonder whether they're going to keep up Y360° at all. I'm no expert on the subject...absolutely not...but I don't have any real sense of integration between the Yahoo services.

I hope this fill the requirement for a tip, although it's a no brainer for most: When getting ready to post a blog, do the texting and formatting in Word, copy and paste to the "blog entry" section of your 360 page, and there you have it!! This has helped me tremendously in the past as Yahoo 360 has a tendency to eat posts, and at the worst possible time.

One handed or both, two fingers or all 10 or 9 however many you have, you sit there in the computer chair and type what ever comes into your head in that compose entry box or on Word it doesn’t matter as long as you do obviously if you type it somewhere other than the compose entry box and you don’t post it no one will read it, so don’t forget you have to actually post it

Type anything an essay a story what you had for dinner in that compose entry box and post it so people can read that’s right you have the hang of it now.

Sometimes you will get answers back on something you have typed someone else who can type a few words like you reads what you wrote and they type what is called a comment, you know how to comment don’t you? You don’t? It’s the same as you typing something on that bumpy thing called a keyboard use the same thing only on someone else’s page first you read what the other person has typed and you use your bumpy thing to type back you can type as much as you want sometimes depending on where you are typing it you can put a smiley face as well, even a picture but we aren’t talking about those at the moment we are talking typing out some words not just one word like pop or first as that’s just a little bit silly unless of course the post you are commenting on wants you to type one word sometimes they do you know.

Of course if you get a comment it is nice to answer that comment you can type they can as well which means you can “speak” to each other, you don’t have to but it is nice if you ask a question to get an answer isn’t it so make sure you do the same for others

As I wend my way around blogland meeting and greeting, there are times when I just can't find the right thing to say. I read some blogs and they are great, some are happy, some are sad. Some are funny, some are cute. It is so hard to find something original to say and not sound trite. Should I say nothing rather than just words for the sake of commenting? Should I leave just a smile or a hug. Ronan keating has a song that goes: You say it best when you say nothing at all. If I go away without leaving a comment will you think I didn't visit and didn't care? What do you think? I leave you with this:

I always like to leave a comment. Sometimes I go back and leave several if I have been gone because I like to receive them. I also like the comments section and re-comments. Sometimes the most interesting conversations go on there. Mostly in 360 I have seen this. I think a smiley is just as good. But I don't always expect a comment on all my posts. That would just be silly. Everyone has a life outside of their blogs and I know a lot of people are busy. I have been looking at other blogging sites. Did you know Imeem has blogging? The thing I like about 360 is that I have always used the mail so 360 is open and ready to go when I sign into yahoo. It seems like it is also a better arena for commenting and blog hopping. I don't see that on many other sites.

To blog or not to blog, that is the question each of ask ourselves every day when we power up the PC or lap-top. Did anything out of the ordinary happen in the last 24 hours that must be addressed, dissected and pontificated about in long verbose sentences that sound like poetry to us, maybe even funny in spots, deep and penetrating, thoughtful and insightful or so ground breaking in it's magnitude that some hoity-toity person "out" there will read it and decide that it is worthy of a golden comment? See how long that sentence was. Haha - are you as out of breath as I am?

OKAY - you decide to blog, of course. What else gives your existence meaning and purpose? Yeah, yeah, blogging may be on your top 10 and let's not go overboard. After all it's just a bunch of words about topics that have collided with your gray matter in a way to make the zinging neurons light up, giving you that jolt of inspiration which results in your daily blog.

WOW - another long sentence. I’m on a roll!

You may decide that just rushing into the daily rant is too precipitous and so you make the rounds of your favorite blogs, you know, the ones that always have some clever bit to add or not but seem to elicit 15 comments before 10am. You may ponder that a bit and think about adding a comment too, but if that person has 15 comments already, why would they give a rat's ass what you have to add. Moving on to a blogger who needs my comments and appreciates the depth with which I compose my concise retort. Jam on the pillow case, nope - ants in the kids cereal, nope - consumer report about a new sex toy, nope - dealing with head lice in a 7 yr. old, nope - and by this time you are getting hungry. Time to get some toast and that much needed cuppa whatever or cold bottle of whatever before you faint dead away. Listen to the news, watch a lil'daytime TV, maybe something there will inspire you to blog smart.

OKAY again, you come up with a topic and decide it is worthy of at the very least 6 good long winded comments. (You hope) - Next step is to open your blog word document, you know the one you have on desktop so you can just bring it up and start typing like a mad fool. Oh, you say, you don't have such a word document that is easily accessible to you, for your daily preblog ritual so just in case Yahoo decides that your blog is going to be sucked in that yahoo vortex, you have it neatly saved. (haha - I'm smarter than the average bear) Anyway, that is usually what most of us have learned about 360° . Have your blog backed up just in case you spend an hour typing, searching, inserting, formatting, HTMLing and Yeehoo balks at loading it.

Ditto - You get that all done and now you need a graphic or photo to match your blog. The hunt is on or you may have a graphic in mind already and it is easy to pin down. Where do most of actually get the graphics we use? A lot of us have scads of personal photos that fit right into the sort of blog we plan. We may even be blogging about the photos we take. Then there are the topics that goad us to find jus the right picture, drawing, cartoon or clip-art to make our blog take off. You are off to the races – the writing part is done, the picture part is done and all you need to do now is load her in and wait for the adulation of all you many blog friends who find you the most witty and erudite person an all of 360°.

Take a break – get away from that keyboard before your arse falls asleep. If you are at work, get that 4th cuppa coffee after you make that all important pit stop. If you are at home, get that load of laundry in the damn washer, clean up the morning dishes and let the dog out. Now that you have blogged for the day, you are off the hook. All you really need to do on line for the rest of the day is read other blogs, make comments, maybe change your theme a few times to make you feel good. Ohh, if you are working at a paying job it would be prudent to actually get some (work) done.

What else is important to know about blogging on 360°? Please do not take yourself too seriously. If you do, you will spend more time in a state of apprehended suspension than actually living and we are here to live. In the grand scheme, 360° is merely a diversion, entertainment, self-talk to the wind and a new fangled way to get to know interesting people without having them come into our home, eating and drinking our stuff or worse, smoking and stinking up the place. Relax and have fun. Blog about what you find interesting. If others are moved to comment, that is a bonus. Blog is a self chronicle that can and will take you many places. Remain positive and sure that there are more good people out there than bad. The choices are in your hands.

There are rules to consider, well maybe not so much rules as common sense etiquette of the whole thing, just so you don’t alienate people. The friendship bracelets are passé and a no-no. Group messages about your latest blog are for twits, dissing others or making a blog that says unkind things about a fellow blogger is tacky and shows those who DO see it that you are an ignorant fool. Dirty laundry is not for 360°. If you do have an issue with another blogger bout somethang or tother, do it in private or not at all. Remember mud thrown is ground lost.

As I am writing this in my word document, of course, I am also thinking what song I will feel is appropriate to match this masterpiece of literary drivel. Humm… a Weird Al song may prove best here.. but I won’t know till I start surfing around Imeem to find one. Remember, I laugh at myself all the time - listen to this song today and ponder your arm pits.

Blogging.
I started my blog on Yahoo 360 back in August of 2005. It started out as a private online journal and then I invited about 13 people from my address book. Most i knew from real life and a couple from the internet.

Once in awhile they would comment but not always so I never really knew if they read it. it went like that for 5 months. I was a lot more political back then and poetic. A compassionate conservative, if you must...haha NOT! Well, it is no secret I am to the right but I dance in the left when i feel the need to and it is often since I made the switch back in '02. I don't regret making the switch YET, but sides piss me off so much that I am seriously thinking Independent....if only that meant more to me than...."I really don't have an opinion...I want to walk in the middle." And you know what they say about walking in the middle?

Anyway so yeah I am a repub but I speak my mind about the current idiot a slight majority of idiots voted in.
Note- I did not vote for him....and that will get me through the pearly gates.
Anyway before I go off on a spout like Sister Daisy does about Walmart, let me get back to blogging.
When I officially started lurking 360 and other people's blogs or as I call them OPB (yeah you know me) it was about Januuary of 06...and I was amazed that I could sit in my basement apartment in Nebraskee and read the thoughts of a single mother of two wild teen age girls in Washington, a wild in the closet to his family but out of the closet on his blog drama queen from Nashville, a nerdy Walmart hater that switched from the right to the left in the south, a cultured gay guy in NYC with wonderful snaps from a city I have yet to see, a silly lady from Down Under, an American married to a Belgian living in France, a mysteryman in the Chicago area, and on and on. I mean my world was endless in that basement apartment.
I was addicted right off the bat! I burnt a couple of dinners over 360. I loved it. I started blogging for them. Jokes I think they would like or silly things that happened to me that day. Soon I was participating in blogwide challenges and events.

Then my computer crashed.

DOOMSDAY!

And I realized how addicted I was.
I swore to never burn another dinner.
To stop letting my kids fall asleep at me feet....ha! Just teasing.
Anyway...I still blogged from the library. I still blogged when i was connected again.
I just tried hard to get back to what it was in the beginning. Blogging from the heart. Writing from the heart.

Then on one important piece in the history of my people, i was attacked. I know this is so dead and gone and we all know it was done for attention. I am SO over it, and am only bringing it up as a tip to new bloggers.
I was attacked and many friends, wonderful friends rallied around me to suppost me. But I was devastated, like that time in 7th grade when I started a fundraiser as a class report for the famine in Ethiopia and these mean boys told me mean Ethiopian jokes at recess. I couldn't stop crying. I am that way, i have a lot of passion in me when I believe in something. And I am very sensitive. Anyway my teacher let me lay down till i gained my composure and ranted those boys out in front of the class for their insensitivity.
That si how I felt....hurt. how could one of my readers whom I respected say such mean things about the past of my people, that was never really brought to attention in history anyway? I was pissed, i ranted, I wrote mean blogs about him. I stooped to his level.
Then I forgave him. And we talk, but we are not "blog friends" like we was. i left my blog in Yahoo 360 this year. I had to be weened but I left. Too much drama and cliques. I still read people I love to read from there. Or those that allow me to, and I do miss it. But there are many more things I don't miss than I do.
I now blog seriously on Blogger...yeah it is not 360. But I love it here. I can write without the drama of a thousand people jumping on any bandwagon if drama happens. And so far it has been drama free.
My advice to new bloggers?
-Avoid drama.
-Write from the heart.
B-e honest with what you write because of all people...you know if it isn't.
-Most importantly-write for you, first and foremost.

And if people don't like that?
Fuck 'em.
After all, you are writing for you. Right? Write.

PS- And if your bloggy has speelcheck....USE IT! I obviously am that lazy that I dont.

PPS_ Obviously HBO did not feel that the important piece of history I was attacked for on 360 was stupid and forgetful...check it out on HBO on May 27th, ...Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee.

What is a Blog?

There are many definitions

“A Weblog or blog is a web-based publication of periodic articles
(posts), which in the case of Yahoo! 360, may contain written
material, links or photos” –Mister E

“An online journal or diary”- unwriter

But of course I like mine

A blog is a place where you can write about what ever you want, put pictures of your grandkids tell others what you are doing share your thoughts on the news, the weather, basically whatever you feel the need to share with others

The word Blog is biography shortened it’s YOUR story written by you

We all in some way sometime or another feel the need to write what we are feeling about something whether we agree with it, disagree or we just want to tell others about something we have found, the blog is the new publication the new age diary, remember the diary written by the young Jewish girl trapped in the cellar in Nazi Germany?

A Blog is the same thing, she had pencil and paper we have a computer keyboard.

Maybe or maybe not your story might get seen by hundreds of people and like her you won’t get any rewards (Anne Frank never saw her words in print, her diary found after the holocaust) but like her you write for your sake not for the future enjoyment of others you can rant and rave all you want because it is your Blog your space your diary and even if some might get offended by what you write it is your little bit to do with what you want (within Yahoo guidelines of course)

Obviously the intimate details of your sex life or your fantasy sex life will offend some people and does go against Yahoo’s Terms of Service so I would keep that to your self you can still write about it, you can write about anything you want on your own computer on Word, send it into a magazine like Cosmo or another publication

You never know they might even pay you

So that’s my answer on what is a blog and as some of you have done your 12 steps, not all but hey that doesn’t matter it’s not like we are giving out grades or anything

Here are 10 of your suggestions

How about a word game, where you post a word, then the next person posts a word connected to yours, and so forth.

I like to post a question...say like "Your scariest moment", "Embarrassing moment, etc. and have people leave me their comments. Then the next day, I post it in a blog. Names withheld of course..

How about a weekly writing challenge? Maybe post a blog of theme ideas and let members vote on the themes.

How about someone starting a line for a story, then each proceeding comment would add to the story or poem.

Always like having a meet & greet.

Recently saw a blog I thought was cool. Each Wednesday the blogger posts a topic for Friday and each blogger interprets it in the form of a photo and a blog. Blue was this weeks - it is amazing how many ways people can look at "blue"

We could play the True/False game! Maija had it on her page awhile back and we all had a blast! Here's the link!

Was going to suggest word association but someone beat me too it so.... how about 1st memories or something like that?

Like the idea of going to the person on top of your comment page, first thing in the morning, click on, go to that blog, leave a comment. Click on the top of their page, go to the top comment on their page and visit with a comment. Must tell you that you may have to give up before you run out of blogs. But it’s good to leave a smile or a hug....

1. Be yourself, write about what is on your mind, write about the dog, the cat even what is in your refrigerator

2. Be yourself, try not to use someone else’s poem or writing without their permission or at least putting their name on the bottom

3. Be yourself, you might think your life is boring but it isn’t really, that new mailbox of yours might be the best blog you have ever written just waiting for you to put it in your blog.

4. Be yourself, doesn’t matter if your spellingk ist bud or your language is this

That’s our original group blurb, it won't fit in our group description any more as it exceeds the 2000 character limit that Yahoo Groups allow.
In July Bloggers Anonymous celebrates its birthday; the 360° page that you are reading has its birthday in August.
We would like to think that the group and this 360° page can last that whole year but without the support of members that just cannot be done.
We will be doing a list clean here on this blog page not to worry though it's only those who haven't updated since April, who will be leaving the list here, obviously Bloggers Anonymous is for those with a 360° addiction and as they haven't updated since April they don't have an addiction anymore. This of course will leave room for others.

As a specialty 360° page we do all we can to help in our subject that of course is blogging, Bloggers Anonymous is a specialty page we don’t mind if you have us in favorites we don’t mind if you don’t comment, in fact we don’t really mind if you delete us because as a specialty 360° page we don’t really have time to visit your page anyway, you wouldn’t expect the Yahoo Team 360° page to visit you now would you? Well we really can’t either, sometimes we will though depending on time constraints and if you ask us a question we will try to get to you because we are quite nice people here.

Bloggers Anonymous is a stand alone group it’s not like any other 360º group. Most of our members both in the group and on the 360º page are long time residents of 360º. The 05’ers, been using 360º so long it’s imprinted in their brains. They are true addicts that don’t need friends, help or themes.

Even though we can help you out with technical information on how too use your page we don’t because that not what Bloggers Anonymous does, technical help isn’t fun at all.

It’s a question we ask ourselves all the time “how do I make my blogs interesting?”

What is interesting though?

What interests one person might not interest another, if you wrote about your devotion to Star Trek I’m sure it would fascinate a Trek fan but a person who is more interested in Get Smart or I Dream of Jeanie would probably not be interested at all

Or you could write about the intricate workings of an internal combustion engine compared to a steam engine, that might interest some people
Maybe write about Tom Cruise, Opra Winfrey or Uriah Heep or ABBA even write about a Stephen King novel you’ve just finished reading
Even what you cooked for dinner and how you cooked it including ingredients I’m sure that would interest some people.
Your poetry, your short stories may bore some to tears or they might pounce on your entry as soon as you post it
Photos of your town may be unexciting to you but will be interesting to other people

See how you make your blog interesting is up to you if you are interested others will be as well you just have to find them
That’s what search is for if I type in “blog addicts” in search I get over 200 people all of them will mention blog addicts somewhere on their 360° page, the top one is Bloggers Anonymous of course. If I put Star Trek I would get these
The thing is to write about what you want to write, what you are interested in and fill out your lists with key words with commas,in,between,the,words and people will find you

That way you will have people who are interested in what you write because they are as well

Go to a different site. 360° is full of people from EVERY walk of life. That’s what I love about it. Where else in my world could I peek into so many different cultures, learn so much about people? Nowhere. Don’t ~~shit~~ on that. Not only at my place... but anywhere. I’ve deleted MANY peeps for doing just that, saying dumb ~~shit~~ on other pages. I read it. I delete them. Done. Then I get the stupid message..."why did you delete me??"... I cut n paste the ~~dumbshit~~, put it in my reply, and I never hear from them again. On Blogging

Someone asked me the other day “how do you get so many readers and all those comments?”

Well that’s easy we pay them …. No not really we threaten them with frying pans … no we don’t do that either

Its interactivity, the art of conversation. See its not just one person posting a blog and then others reading it its not that at all, you have too answer. It doesn’t matter who answers can be another person but if you can get a discussion going you can and will get lots of comments

Post a blog with a question at the end ask people what they think about the subject and answer them

What do you think…

I’ve seen blog posts that are a single dot get over 150+ comments; seen long well written posts that make you think get very few, why did the single dot get hundreds? Because the person who posted it carried on the conversation in the comments section most of that 150+ where actually theirs

We talked about the lurker the other day, well even the lurker can’t resist answering a question and they are intrigued by the post with lots of comments.

The other ways too get people reading are

Time and subject matter

Timing counts big time, its no good posting a blog at 11.30pm on a Sunday evening not many awake at that time, unless you are on the other side of the world (Hello America when you wake up)

Friday nights and Wednesday mornings (US time) are the best times too post if you want people too see straight away of course you can always blast your post later, not straight away though as your blast will cover your post on Home

The subject that you write about matters too especially if it’s already been done most memes or “cheeze” have already been done, most readers want too know about you, what you had for dinner, how are the kids, what the dog is doing and they want you too write it, doesn’t matter if you can’t spell your readers want you, not some copy pasted check box meme from another site and if you have copied it chances are someone’s already read it

Note on copy pasting: If you copy from another 360º page it may just run your posts into one another, its extra html code hidden on the page. Do not copy entire blog posts or web pages, your 360º blog will go all weird looking

You want me to write your next blog? Gee wiz I don't know, I tend to suffer alot from writers block you know, that thing when you get in front of the computer and you put your fingers on the keyboard but then your mind just goes completely blank. ya. That't be me. I never EVER know what to write about. I mean really I go the whole day with ideas and whatnot going on in my head you know, all those voices in a big discussion going on in my head telling me hey Sue do this then the other more dominant voice says hey Sue don't listen to her listen to me...I get so confused but then pull out my post it notes and start jotting down things I can blog about but. ... sigh... the moment I sit in front of the computer it's all gone. The voices stop and its like the party is so over dude I just feel lost and alone like someone turned the lights out. *sniff sniff* *begins to cry uncontrollably on Dana's shoulder* it just gets too much to deal with when everyone abandons you like that all at once...makes me feel so rejected.
Even when I take OFF this tinfoil cap that makes me look like Magnito from the XMen I still don't hear the voices. So then I sit there staring aimlessly at the screen with my fingers resting on the keyboard...but my keyboard ain't like yours though, it don't have the blog key where I can just press the key and ta da the blog is done for me...heck naw, I got the old school type of keyboard with alphabets and some F keys *giggles through my tears* no I don't mean F as in the bad word...I mean it must be short for Feature, or Function or Friend! Hey!! You mean if I press the F1 key on my keyboard maybe I will get one friend! shh...Listen...you hear that? The voices in my head are laughing at me... no wait a minute...that's not coming from my head! *looks around the room* WHAT? WHY'S EVERYONE STARING AT ME? AND LAUGHING!!? *smiles at you all* What's the joke? Come on I wanna laugh too... tell me the joke you're all laughing at!!

Story of the Five Bears and Two Goldilocks..November 7, 2006

Story of the Five Bears and Two Goldilocks: Once upon a time far away in cyber land there was a village named blog. There was a good little blogger named Dana. Another blogger named Missy, aka Candy, aka, Missy Moo, aka Missy Stick Figure, aka etc., etc., etc. decided Dana would make an adorable mascot for Bloggers Anonymous so she dressed her up in a little bear suit, holding a bowl with the BA symbol on it.

A third blogger named Red laughed so hard at the little mascot she had to invest heavily in depends stock. She just could picture the little bear hovering over her keyboard typing with those stubby bear fingers giggling under her breath. The little mascot chased Red all over the yahoo 360 playground and Red ran fast because when she saw the bowl in Dana Bears hands she thought the little bear was a cereal killer. (insert giggle here) Red ran and ran until Dana Bear yelled for her to stop, that it was only a bowl to feed da hungry bloggers.

It wasn't but a couple of hours later that Missy Sticky Candy Moo had put Red in her very own little pink bear suit. Red liked it because it had gotten very cold where she lived and the suit was very warm. It was also pink, her favorite color. They all went to bed happy because they had laughed themselves silly.

The next day Red Bear in pink got up and checked her mail and laughed some more to see a Missy Ewok in her mailbox. Dana Bear tacked a note to the picture saying two can play this game muahahahaha! (Well, she didn't say the muahahaha, but I took literary liscense because it made the story better.) An Ewok is kind of like a bear.

Missy Ewok and Red Bear in pink had the simultaneous thought***"Who's going to be Goldilocks?"*** Missy Ewok had already had an idea and had started a dress for PureVizhun as Goldilocks. Red Bear in pink thought of hyiidra who has those beautiful long golden locks and was working so hard now that she bare-ly had time to blog and Red Bear in pink missed her terribly and thought maybe she could be there in spirit. Hence Blondii Goldiilocks.

Ok, now where did that other goldilocks run off too?

Missy Ewok, while skipping through the woods one day stumbled upon Mister E. shivering in the dark woods from the cold. She took him back to her cyber land home in blog and put him in a cozy yellow bear suit. That is the day he became The Mister E Yellow Bear. No one is quite sure who he is but the bears and the goldilocks and all of 360 liked him immediately.

In the meantime number 1 Goldilocks aka Pure Goldilocks, known throughout the land for her artistic skills had gone to a wedding in another land where she toasted too much and came home toasted. That goldilocks!, always getting to the porridge or one thing or another, making mischief. She didn't skip home but got there all the same safe and sound. She was inspired to make more mischief and proceeded to take Missy, Red and Dana out of their bear suits and make them bare, literally. She named her creation The Three Graces of Yahoo 360 (blush, blush) Missy was embarrassed and tried to cover the other two up.

During Pure's Inspirational period Red had decided to bug her friend Slim a little. Red liked to do that on game day. She decided since Slim had been largely absent from blog land due to Real Life, she needed a bear suit too. So then there were 5 little bears, the last being Slim Bear.

In the meantime Pure Goldilocks, was working in her little paint shop reinventing Missy, Dana, Red, and herself into the fantastic four once again. Goldilocks and the three bears. So the story has come full circle and it is time for all the Little Bears and Goldilocks to bid you good night.

Have YOU joined yet?

Since starting the BA group in July the group now has 200 members and the BA blog itself has 140 friends

Its getting there I tell you, of course if someone joins the group and their 360° page cannot be found at all or they are very new and they haven’t posted a single blog yet. BA isn’t for them and I’ll send them off to 360° friends or 360° forum even one of the other 360° groups.

The BA group will accept lurkers but not spammers (those who join groups to collect email addresses) or those who join just to collect contacts
BA isn’t a dating service either.
That’s why there isn’t many in the BA group

Why is the Bloggers Anonymous 360° page doing better than the group …why?? Because people in Bloggers Anonymous are 360° addicts that’s why!
That’s why there aren’t many emails go through Bloggers Anonymous either. It’s a very low email group

On Blogging Addiction: A funny thing happened to me on the way to the laundry. I had to stop to blog.

A funny thing happened to me on the way to the store. I neglected to get all my groceries because I had to run home and blog.

A funny thing happened to me in the doctors office. I told him if I had to wait over fifteen minutes I was charging him blogging fees.

A funny thing happened to me on the way to get the cleaning supplies. I thought of a funny comment to write and actually on this one I just forgot what I went in that room for in the first place.

A funny thing happened to me on the way to a job. I had to pull over and write blog topics.

A funny thing happened to me on the way to the bathroom. I decided I could hold it to blog.

If this keeps up I will have to buy stock in adult pads so I can just sit and blog.

Bring Me Something Funny: How about your funniest blogging experience. The one of Sheldon running out of hot water while he blogged was priceless.

I know you want to fess up. I used to do a fess up day on my blog. Ok, lets hear it. Lets do open comments. Comments on comments.

Or maybe a poem for the masses. I don't know about you but I haven't had a good laugh in several days. I want coffee to come out my nose. Well, maybe not to that extreme.

I have started putting my relatives mail in a new folder to get it out of the way so I can see all the email I have from friends on 360. Maybe that one isn't so funny. Are we weird? Is this normal?
